We have been working directly with the same family in Ecuador for over 11 years to obtain our Palo Santo raw materials. They have worked directly with the ministry of forest and government agencies on reforestation projects including putting back over 100,000 trees into the dry tropical forest for the last 20 years.
They only purchase wood from independent local collectors that find naturally dead trees that have been sitting on the forest floor for over 4 years

Busting Myths
The only type of Palo Santo we source, Bursera Graveolens is not endangered and is only collected from naturally dead or fallen trees. Cut down trees actually do not provide a smell✨
Bulnesia Sarmientoi is a tree also called Palo Santo that grows in the Gran Chaco region and is endangered due to heavy logging for its wood to build many products.
The message got mixed up with the two sharing the same *common* name. Bulnesia Sarmientoi has nothing to do with the popular Bursera Graveolens which is widely used in South America for many things like warding away mosquitos and it’s oil for the beneficial properties 🌿
